Black Friday Saddles Up at Triple Crown Equestrian Center

Black Friday Saddles Up at Triple Crown Equestrian Center

by | Nov 25, 2024

Looking for a way to spice up your Black Friday weekend? Forget the mall madness and saddle up for some real excitement at the 9th Annual Rope & Run in Memory of Ollie Simpson. This rodeo extravaganza is set to take over Lincoln, California, from November 29th to December 1st, 2024. And guess what? It’s made our exclusive Black Friday Guide 2024 – because who needs another flat-screen TV when you can watch cowboys and cowgirls in action?

Where’s the Hoedown Happening?

The Triple Crown Equestrian Center at 3033 Gladding Rd, Lincoln, California 95648, is the place to be. Lincoln, a charming city in Placer County, is about 30 miles northeast of Sacramento. So, if you’re in the area, there’s no excuse to miss out on this rootin’ tootin’ good time!

What’s on the Menu?

Hold onto your hats, folks, because this event is packed tighter than a cowboy’s jeans after Thanksgiving dinner. Here’s what you can expect:

Barrel Racing Bonanza

  • Cowgirl’s Barrel Racing: Watch these fierce ladies show the boys how it’s done
  • Junior Barrel Racing: The kids are alright, and they’re coming in hot
  • Open Barrel Racing: All comers welcome in this high-stakes race
  • Pee Wee Barrel Racing: Tiny riders with big dreams

Roping Rodeo

  • Team Roping: Two cowboys, one calf, and a whole lot of skill

Why All the Fuss?

This isn’t just any old rodeo. The Rope & Run is held in memory of Ollie Simpson, a name that clearly means a lot to the local rodeo community. While we don’t have the details on Ollie’s story, you can bet your bottom dollar that this event is a heartfelt tribute to someone who left their mark on the world of Western sports.

The Big Leagues Are Watching

If you thought this was just a local shindig, think again. The Rope & Run is sanctioned by some pretty big names in the rodeo world:

  • NSBRA (National Senior Barrel Racing Association)
  • WCBRA (West Coast Barrel Racing Association)
  • WPRA (Women’s Professional Rodeo Association)

This means the competition is fierce, the stakes are high, and the action is non-stop. You might just catch a glimpse of the next rodeo superstar!

Getting in on the Action

Thinking of showing off your skills? Pre-entry for riders opens from January 1st to 27th, 2024. But hold your horses – there’s a catch. You must bring your shavings or buy them from local feed stores. The Triple Crown Equestrian Center doesn’t sell or provide them on-site. Consider yourself warned!

More Than Just Dust and Lassos

While the rodeo action is the main draw, the Rope & Run is more than just a competition. It’s a chance to immerse yourself in Western culture, meet like-minded folks, and maybe even pick up a new hobby. Who knows? You might leave with a sudden urge to trade in your sedan for a trusty steed.

Mark Your Calendars

Remember, this three-day extravaganza kicks off on Friday, November 29th, 2024, and runs through Sunday, December 1st. It’s the perfect way to work off that Thanksgiving turkey and avoid the Black Friday crowds.

A Word to the Wise

While we can’t promise you’ll leave a rodeo champion, we can guarantee a weekend full of thrills, spills, and good old-fashioned fun. So dust off your cowboy boots, practice your best “yeehaw,” and get ready for a Black Friday weekend that’s anything but ordinary.

The 9th Annual Rope & Run in Memory of Ollie Simpson is more than just a rodeo – it celebrates Western heritage, community spirit, and the enduring appeal of cowboy culture. Whether you’re a seasoned rodeo pro or a city slicker looking for a taste of the Wild West, this event promises something for everyone.

So why not skip the shopping frenzy this Black Friday and mosey on down to Lincoln, California? You might just find that the best deals are made on horseback, not in shopping carts.
