Halloween 2024: Downtown Lincoln’s Spooktacular Trick or Treating Event

by | Oct 30, 2024

Get ready for a spooktacular Halloween in Lincoln, California! The annual Downtown Trick or Treat event is set to bewitch the town on October 31, 2024, and it’s shaping up to be a fang-tastic celebration you won’t want to miss. (By the way, this ghoulish gathering is featured in our Halloween Guide 2024 – your one-stop shop for all things spooky!)

Trick-or-Treating Extravaganza

From 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM, the streets of downtown Lincoln will transform into a candy-lover’s paradise. Local businesses will open their doors to little goblins, witches, and superheroes, handing out sweet treats that will overflow your candy bucket. It’s the perfect chance for kids to show off their costumes and practice their “trick or treat” skills.

But wait, there’s more! The fun doesn’t stop at just collecting candy. The event organizers have conjured up a cauldron of activities to keep everyone entertained.

Spooky Shenanigans at Beermann Plaza

Beermann Plaza, located at 640 5th Street, will be the beating heart of this Halloween hullabaloo. Here’s what you can expect:

Games and Contests: Bring your A-game because there will be plenty of chances to win prizes. From pumpkin bowling to zombie tag, these games will have you cackling with delight.

Costume Contest: Strut your stuff in the costume parade! Categories include Best Family Costume and Best Baby & Toddler, so start planning your outfits now. Who knows? You might just walk away with a trophy and bragging rights.

Cake Walk: Back by popular demand, the Cake Walk is a sweet addition to the festivities. Kids can try their luck at winning a whole cake to take home. Just imagine the sugar rush!

Treats for Your Taste Buds

All that trick-or-treating is bound to work up an appetite. Lucky for you, Old Town Pizza will be on hand, serving up hot slices that’ll make your taste buds do the Monster Mash. Nothing says Halloween like a slice of pepperoni pizza, right?

A Community Affair

What makes this event truly special is the community spirit. Local businesses go all out, decorating their storefronts and dressing up to welcome the little trick-or-treaters. It’s a chance for everyone to come together, celebrate, and create lasting memories.

And here’s a little secret: word on the street is that some “fun characters” will be roaming around, ready to surprise and delight. Keep your eyes peeled for friendly ghosts, silly vampires, and maybe even a dancing skeleton or two!

Calling All Businesses and Vendors

Hey, local business owners! Want to be part of this spooktacular event? The Downtown Lincoln Association is inviting you to join the fun. The best part? There are no participation fees! You only need to bring plenty of candy to share with the kiddos.

If you want to set up a booth at Beermann Plaza, contact Maggie May’s Gifts on the Blvd at elisegustafson@live.com. They’ll help you secure your spot faster than you can say, “Boo!”Oh, and if you’re joining as a vendor, don’t forget to bring a cake for the DLA booth. It’s for the Cake Walk, and trust us, you’ll be making many little ghouls very happy.

Tips for a Hauntingly Good Time

  1. Arrive early to make the most of the 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM timeframe.
  2. Wear comfortable shoes – you’ll be doing a lot of walking!
  3. Bring an extra bag for all that candy. Trust us, you’ll need it.
  4. Don’t forget your camera to capture all the spooky memories.
  5. Be prepared for any weather – October in Lincoln can be unpredictable.

More Than Just Trick-or-Treating

While the Downtown Trick or Treat event is the show’s star, it’s part of a larger celebration called FalloWeen Fest. The City of Lincoln has been busy brewing a cauldron of fall activities throughout October.

Earlier in the month, they hosted Movies at McBean and a Floating Pumpkin Patch. Imagine swimming to pick your perfect pumpkin or having a mermaid choose one for you! It’s been a month-long celebration of all things autumn and spooky in Lincoln.

Mark Your Calendars!

So, there you have it, folks! On October 31, 2024, from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM, downtown Lincoln will be the place for Halloween fun. Whether you’re a local or coming from out of town, this event promises a BOO-tiful time for ghouls and boys of all ages.

Remember, Halloween is all about having fun, being safe, and indulging in a little bit (okay, a lot) of candy. So grab your costumes, round up your little monsters, and prepare for a Halloween celebration that’ll have you howling with delight.

See you there, if you dare! And don’t forget to check out our Halloween Guide 2024 for more spooky fun in the area. Happy haunting, Lincoln!
